January 10, 2023 – Guest speaker is Carol Morrissy of O’Carol’s Designs from Double Oak, TX (north of Dallas). Carol’s presentation includes a digital program of her thread painting and the workshop will be working with a photo of a flower printed on fabric.

Location – San Pedro Presbyterian Church, 14900 San Pedro
Supplies needed include a sewing machine with a hopping foot, darning foot or open-toe embroidery and a good light, Basic sewing supplies, bobbins filled with your favorite bobbin thread and various color of threads appropriate for the flowers printed.

Free-Motion Thread Painting on a Photograph – Carol uses a variety of free-motion stitching techniques to enhance the colors and provide texture to her photo. She provides a photo that has been professionally printed on fabric (nominal fee). This workshop is a perfect way to gain confidence with free-motion techniques! The resulting “embroidered” piece is lovely enough to frame! Class duration is typically four hours.
